I love the name of that one - is it what's known as a heritage diesel?

Thanks Korky, yes, it was built in the 60's. In 1993 it was named to commemorate Captain Smith who bought GNR No.1247 in 1959 which was the first locomotive to be bought privately from British Rail for preservation.

Thanks Clicker, it helps that the ELR also have some detailed info about all their heritage diesel fleet.
