The fiery reflections in the foreground look fantastic .....(nice bit of alliteration there eh ....lol)    I love to see this happening ...it's almost like a single entity isn't it ... Having said that ... i haven't seen a single starling where we live in 25 years !! I have seen a mumuration  of them at Slimbridge about 12 years  ago .Their numbers have declined by 66% since the late 70s.. though noone is really sure why ... they are on the red list now ...  endangered species!

Hi, John,

‘I’m so pleased to see that this remains a sight in that area of Blackpool, I remember a holiday at the far end of the tramlines ( Cleveleys ? ) when we used to sit in absolute awe at the same time every evening.....a fantastic sight together with amazing sound too.

Thanks all for commenting.

Clicks, I had no idea that Starlings are on the Red List.  I thought that they were so numerous as to be almost considered pests.  Must be all of the chips they eat at the sea side - See below(Straight out of the camera).

Fuji, the trams used to go all the way to Fleetwood when I lived in Blackpool but they terminate just past Cleveleys today.

I suppose we're all different Colin.  I don't always add a border but if I think it will set an image off, just like framing a piece of art, I will add one.  However, I would have to admit you're not the first to make the comment.

According to the Blackpool Transport website they still run from Starr Gate to Fleetwood Ferry and back and I was in Fleetwood a few months ago and saw trams there going to Blackpool. I did also see lots of Starlings as well along the sea front. When I lived in Blackburn there used be 1000's of them that would roost around the Cathedral area.
