The Wreckage

I like this study very much, their is something about old wrecks isn’t there?

Is this where dozens of old sailing ships were deliberately beached to help preserve the estuary/River banks from tidal erosion ? It and the wrecks featured in a recent Sunday Morning broadcast....

The wrecks were once proud sailing ships and barges, made redundant when steam and other motive power took over....at first they were just so much scrap, but now they are considered to be valuable to maritime archaeology and research.

fascinating stuff !

Thanks, Fuji.

I didn't know anything about the wreck - it was just there as we walked round the estuary path.  I thought it would make an interesting photo though - not the sort of thing I usually get to see.
