More work today alas, as my work involves coding and html, so doesn't actually make for an interesting image. I did spot this news article in my local paper about a ghost garden appearing during very dry weather... So went out to have a look

The outlines you can see are from the original Victorian Garden designed by Sir Charles Barry in the 1850's and was lost during WWII, it's due to the soil drying out at different rates. This is probably a once in a lifetime event - bit like England winning the world cup - (I was 4  when they did win in 1966) only this was closer and could be seen and photographed....

A nice set of images to avoid the football with. I saw an American Mink again today at the weir in Whalley. I'm always surprised by how many people stop and ask me if I've seen anything and talk to me about what they've seen. They're not photographers, just people who enjoy watching the wildlife on the river. That cat looks massive......

Them's a nice set of pics, BP - the colour version of the lighthouse image is proper good.

A pretty mundane week for me as I have a little meds issue I have to cope with, however.......... The football is almost over and so is the tennis and that can't be a bad thing.

If Matron is agreeable, I'll have a little wander today and do the 52 pic along with something suitably boring for this thread.

Sir Philip - The 52 Project. Remember? One pic a week. Just one. Easy!

Indeed. Apologies for last week, in my defense... I don't have one. I'm heading out for a 'bimble' round the village as we speak, and with camera in hand

Now, where did I leave it?

That ghost garden is amazing Rye .... after all these years to see that historic footprint   emerge because of drought conditions   shows just how much archeologists can ascertain from   "digging "... The earth  really is a history book isn't it ...?

I imagine your drone will come in useful Phil for seeing the bones of our history showing from aerial points of view ...what an opportunity to see what's beneath the surface in some places   ....

It's all fascinating stuff, Pol.

Drone laws are being tightened by the minute and flying areas are diminishing fast, but, assuming you still have line-of-sight with the craft there are ways around it.
The Civil Aviation Authority have confirmed that property owners do not have ownership of the airways, while it may be against the law to take off from a given plot of land, we can legally fly over it (that doesn't include buildings or crowds of people of course, there are still rules in place which govern that).

Chased a squirrel off the bird feeders earlier, in its haste it snapped a sail off the water feature!

In truth, it's not actually a bad thing, I never liked it anyway, just don't tell 'er-indoors

Out tonight avoiding the bloody football.......

Surely not .....

At first I thought the  mono was a conversion of the colour version of  St Mary's lighthouse ... then I saw you had moved to get the full reflection of it in the latter ...

On reflection ( ouch ..... ) I think the  mono pips the colour to the post  by a very short head for me ...

I meant to ask you all if anyone is watching the latest master of photography series3 on Sky Arts ?

I wasn't but I am now, didn't realise it was on. Series record set and downloading previous episodes.

Don't have Sky I'm afraid.

We spent yesterday afternoon Walking along the cliff tops in Silverdale before going for a shandy    and something to eat in Arnside.  Up on the cliffs, I was desperate to find a decent subject to use the clouds with but this was the best I could manage.
