Andy you really have amazing skills in this genre of photography.... ultra macro shows  some incredible colours  that we are normally quite oblivious to . Hatsofftoya... (sounds like  a Russian footballer that does .). ..

Whoa ! They are very strange features, quite unlike any other fly I have seen, and I shot loads when I had, and used my macro gear.

An interesting aside to this, is that every year, between May And June,  I think, Lacewings emerged from the air heating system of our 1973 VW Campet and into the cab....usually the first time we turned on the cool air in summer.....I reckoned that they hatched out from eggs laid in the heating pipes.
