Very nice idyllic shot of the English countryside as I remember it. I thought I'd heard the name Pendle Hill before, so I Googled it and it seems that they used to have more than their fair share of witches and their accompanying executions. I can just imagine a gibbet on top of that hill.

Thanks Brian, the area around the hill is well known for the Pendle Witches, though most were tried and executed at Lancaster, George Fox also had a vision on Pendle Hill and later founded the Quakers.

"Pendle Hill" combines the words for hill from three different languages. Basically Hill Hill Hill...

WOW Rye you have excelled yourself here.....one of the best landscapes by you this year....but then of course, I’m biased because my good lady is distantly related to one of those infamous Pendleton witches.

Right on my doorstep but it's not a view I'm familiar with

It's on the A59 side of Pendle on the road that goes to Sabden over the Nick O' Pendle

Thanks Gareth, many of the TIPF members will be very familiar with this view, as it's fairly local to me - about 6-7 miles from my house, and I photographed it a lot last two year as part of a One A Day Every Day Challenge we did between 01/01/2016 and 31/12/2017....
