Helios 44-2 2/58

Recommended Posts

I have two Helios 44-2 2/58 lenses already but both are a bit beaten up and one has the front element is reversed so I have been on the hunt for a nice one....which I got today and took out on tonights dog walk.

Seems like its good optically, the aperture ring is positive and the focus is light but smooth...

Amazing!

Love the rendering gained from using vintage lenses.....there is something special about them.

I have just  returned from a short evening walk with my beautiful Russian-made JUPITER 11 ROCKET-SHIP ...vintage lens fitted to my GX8 ....minimum focusing distance 2.5 metres ...so very restricting, but forces creativity.

i will be taking a look at results, then processing the best later this evening.

Another nice set of images BP, these vintage lens certainly do have a different look to them than modern lenses - though the Sigma 30mm f1.4 Art does produce some very nice results - and you can get ridiculously close to your subject...
