It was fishing on a weir in Whalley along with several other birds.

That is a beautiful shot.  The bird looks so serious. Broken heart??

Thanks Mike. It probably didn't catch any fish. In the winter months they lose that chocolate brown colouring on their head. These would normally be seabirds and found by the coast, but over the years they've followed rivers inland so now you find them everywhere as they've adapted well to living in inland and urban environments.

That's really nice Geoff.  That weir provide a great BG for this sort of photography.  The moving water adds a dynamic and you have the shutter speed just right.  Nice work.
