Micromoth - Micropterix calthella

I spotted these on the stalk of a dandelion, it was the shiny yellow/gold colour that caught my eye and the fact that there were several of them. It wasn't until I got home and saw them on a big screen that I realised that they looked like moths.... These micro moths are usually difficult to identify....

Given that they're on a dandelion stalk they do look darn small.

Purely by chance the usual website I use for trying to identify various bugs, the first page I clicked for moths had these.... Like in bird watching they use the word Jizz or Giss, it can be used for bugs to get an impression of the general characteristics, if you look at bugs as often as I do so, you sort of get an idea of what you're looking at.

They are quite tiny 4-5mm long, they're not called micro moths for nothing.....
