Oyster Catcher..

Recommended Posts

Found this example foraging at the end of the airfield where I went Gliding last Saturday, not seen one so far inland before.

Another Nice Capture Denis.  It might be the time of year.  I'm not into bird watching per se but I seem to remember reading that some costal bird come inland to breed.

Another great capture, Denis. Apparently in the last 50 years Oystercatchers have been moving further inland and follow waterways inland. I've seen them on the River Ribble near Clitheroe on numerous occassions.

I think they will go anywhere where there is suitable water. There were always quite a few at Ladywalk, just NE of Birmingham and you can't get much further inland in the UK.

That's unexpected I didn't realise they would go that far inland.
