out firewood collecting again today, and, as we were sitting having a coffee break I saw a very bright spot of colour on a tree:

Sat for a little while hoping he would come closer, but he didn't, and this was the best I got - taken through a dusty windscreen and not perfect, but good enough for an id picture:

A lovely Scarlet Robin and seeing these does confirm that we do indeed have our Autumn. Hope to see them again and I'll take the P900 with me next time.

Yes, very intense Kev, which is why he stood out against the rather plain background. If they are around hopefully I will get better pictures of them, and another species of Robin that we also see at home in the cooler weather.
