THOUGHTFUL

Recommended Posts

This lady gave permission to take her Street Portrait today.....on the dullest wettest day ever...everything was grey.

Really like the colour version Fuji but for me, the mono is a bit dark.  Like the crop as well.

I think I'm in agreement with John on this, the mono is a touch too dark - so colour for me also.

Thanks both....read my text and you will note that it was the dullest, wettest, greyest, grottiest day ever....I don’t believe in using flash but a white reflector would have worked...

I can return to processing mode to brighten it further..

I'd say the colour version is exposed perfectly.

A very nice study, but I, too, think they're a little dark and need to be brighter.

Perhaps a tweak in levels or curves would do the trick.

Brightened is GOOD.  She certainly does look deep in thought.

Thank you Kev....

You wouldn’t believe just how much work went into making this portrait usable....if you had the same weather you will know just how dark, damp and grey everything was....camera setting needed to be carefully thought out....not always easy when changing locations quickly.

I have lost far too many street shots by using Aperture Priority....I shoot in S or M mode now...

I like the first colour version best of the three.
I think the muted palette works perfectly in reflecting both the grim weather and the subject ... a lady of mature years who looks to have had a few bumps in the road.
Also, the first one is softer, looks less 'sharpened'.
