YIKES !

Weary.....this, I think, is your best yet.......your macro results are as good as any I’ve seen anywhere......I really do think that you should create a digital portfolio and offer them to Enymologists at Universities and Schools.

Or.....you could offer yourself as a volunteer tutor so that others can learn from how you achieve such incredible results from what seems to be standard lenses plus a £50 RAYNOX.

your current work is giving me great pleasure.....more please.

Thank you Fuji, the kit I'm using is a unusual assembly of bits, 8 extension tubes and filter rings ( without glass ) and stepping rings to give a total length of 190.33 mm which is the focal length of the Raynox at the lens mount, this then allows me to use the Mitutoyo 5x microscope objective and the Raynox assembly  as a 208 6mm tube lens , the gives an overall  magnification around of 5.25x . When I return I'll post a photo of the setup which you may find of interest.

As promised here are a couple pictures of my setup, I've pointed out the main items but you can see a billiards ball being used, a PC heat sink, a Canon focusing rail and a lab lifter just a few of the gizmos i've picked up over the last few months...

YIKES !

That set up is way beyond and above anything I ever did.....you obviously have a fantastic knowledge of exactly what each lens  is capable of, plus the ability to forecast the effect of extension rings.

Then you needed to work out a dias plus working lighting.....

You have succeeded brilliantly......I bet pics plus a description of your set-up on a specialist macro site will be very welcome and could cause quite a stir.
