the amount of time i've ridden by there i've never seen anything big off there. i normally have my dinner by the Bristow/coast guard helicopter building most weeks.

I am lucky that I work there, so I can usually take some shots when these type of aircraft are training. We normally get advanced notice of when they are coming too as we often need to provide additional fire cover. Unfortunately when the fast jets fly by we usually get no warning and they are gone is a few seconds. We get these in most weeks, along with the A400. We also get regular RAF rotary stuff, Apache, Merlin, Chinook and Puma's as well as Tucano's. Now and again we get some USAAF stuff in, and of course we see the occasional Spitfire and Messerschmitt.

Wow some really fine  pics taken there Rick ....  was that just a random opportunity, you being there at that time.?

Another  reason why we  toggers  always have a camera with us eh ...;)

As I work there, and got fed up of missing opportunities, I bought a 7D Mkii just for this, I keep my 100-400L attached and just pop out the office when something is around.

I don't really have the time at the moment, when my little one has grown up a bit I'd like to get to see some military hardware other than passing our runway.
