Spotted this yesterday as we went down our drive - looks like the Gould's Monitor we had on the block last year - the light was not perfect and I couldn't get out of the car to get closer:

Went for another look this afternoon and guess what - he has a partner:

We are about to start getting up to the low 30's, so guess we'll see a bit more of this sort of activity - which we enjoy seeing.

Thank you all - to get two together like this was a very rare opportunity, even for us this is unusual, and I was really lucky.

We saw one of then again this morning, and I'm going to take a stool down the drive later and sit just a little way away from the hole which appears to be the entrance to their underground labyrinth. Who knows I may be lucky again!

Great stuff - shot 2 is brilliant. But when do we get the kangaroos?

Korks you will get some soon! Because of our rainfall we still have heaps of grass, although it is certainly yellowing out now, so the 'roos are not yet coming for the bread and birdseed. We will be buying a bail of hay soon, because we have temps over 30C for the next ten days, so they will be coming!!

I think we all in the UK look forward to your Ossie wildlife and flowers because it's so much different to our usual wildlife and it's 6 months ahead of what we have here. We're heading towards Mid Winter yet you're heading towards Mid Summer... Plus you've got such an interesting wildlife that we don't get here... Take Kangaroos, Blackpool Zoo is the closest place to see them , but they're not wild........
