The Lune Pilot Comutes to Work

The light is the Plover Scar light that sits in the Lune estuary, originally the front light of two but the main lighthouse was demolished many years ago as Lancaster ceased to be a port.  It now protects the channel leading to Glasson Dock where the Lune Pilot is based.

That looks pretty choppy water John ... I imagine those wind turbines were rotating fairly fast . a great sense of movement with that pilot vessel and I like the silvery patch of sunlight  on the water . I recall Turner painted a picture . of the  River Lune ... I remember it as one of his paintings that didn't include a seascape.;)
