Great shot from a 2mm creature.   That is impressive.  I can’t help but feel that the image is a little flat colour wise.   I don’t know whether that is because of the magnification or because colour is fading as the bug decays.   I think seeing the whole of the ant would have made the shot even better.

Kev7d, I agree, the most difficult part of this kind of photography is getting the lighting right. For this shot the ant was placed in a frosted glass lampshade to try and cut down reflections and give a softer light.I am now looking for a cheap low magnifying microscope so I can prepare bugs once they have been relaxed.
