TO CROP OR NOT TO CROP

FUJI

OK!

I really would like an opinion from as many of you as possible.

This is a Street Portrait of a complete stranger....I really had to pluck up the courage to request a portrait shoot in a very busy shopping street; hence no time for niceties regarding background or posing.

The lady was more than gracious, I was able to shoot these in relative comfort..........my question is which are better?

The cropped versions which emphasise her distinctive looks...or...the larger ones which show her fly-away hair to best advantage?

Where to crop a portrait can be quite difficult sometimes....

Over to you...be as cruel as you wish....I can take it.

They are all good FUJI and so for me, it's just a matter of preference.  That preference for me would be two and three.  I know there are essentially only two images here and I can't tell you why I prefer those two but I do.

# 3 for me is the best ... then # 4  .... I'm not keen on tight crops usually either  . Part of the essence of this street portrait for me is the fact that it can be seen as a person just encountered on the street and the fact that she has engaged so honestly with you is part of the charm ... The close crops take that element away for me ...  hope that makes sense to you as to where I'm coming from . it is just my opinion  ..

She has a lovely face and a wonderful smile     The closer I am to the face realty helps bring the smile out so I dont object to the crops with number 2 being lovely
