Out in Birmingham at night again

Stravinsky

Recommended Posts

Well ..... here I am again trying to make Birmingham look nice.  This time I kept away from the canals and concentrated on Grand Central and the surrounding area.  Managed to get up on an NCP car park and spent half an hour there before we were moved on by security.  I left the cranes in shot two because it just about sums up Birmingham at the moment .... they seem to be rebuilding bits of it all the time at the moment.  In the first shot I caught a light trail of an aircraft landing at the airport (hopefully!) which I left in too.

I'm beginning to realise I really like taking city shots at night .... dont always get it right, but it's immense fun both taking the shots and editing them.  I put in the last shot because it actually was the whole point of the night, getting night reflections in the new Grand central mirror roof

This is truly excellent work ......

Work, if developed along the right lines, could warrant printing, in official/City/Tourist/Municipal/Seasonal publications, as promotional studies....

Try showing them to whoever is in charge of promoting Brum.......

( I do Charge a pro-rata rate for business advice ;-))

An absolutely super set Stravinsky....  some really innovative takes on the city .... I love the futuristic sci-fi look of # 5 image. But number 3 looks fabulous for the detail in large mode. Yes the mirrored roof is great and the Bullring is a signature shot for the city but personally I think the third pic is the pic of the bunch for getting such interest from an unusual viewpoint . ... a really excellent set Stravinsky.... top job !

Thanks all for your kind comments.  Many of them get printed in a flickr page in the Birmingham mail from time to time.  The problem I have is that I arrange these walks (there were 12 of us on this one) but it sometimes distracts me from getting on with my own pictures.  During this one I managed to keep focused a little more.  It's good to go out in groups for the safety aspect.
