TWENTY YEARS OF MY LIFE ON A SKIP

Oh dear!

The joys of realizing that a huge part of my latter years are over, today, I filled a large skip with all that remains of twenty years of Schools, Museums and Historic Site children's workshops......bagged ready to make kits, thousands of pre-cut parts, hundreds of dried up pens, worn down crayons, coloured pencils plus a huge assortment of essential bits and bobs runnining into more hundreds.

I have put this day off for at least 8 years, thinking that I just might get invited to do just a few more workshops, but, except for perhaps three two years apart.....nothing!

Then just around Easter time, a rat or three wrecked a whole corner of my store shed,,contaminating almost everything in there.....that did it.....everything had to go, making me very sad indeed.

Because, those unused Toy-Kits contain all my contact details, I have an arrangement with the waste contractor that they will go for quick incineration.......

it will seem very strange walking into a near empty store shed.

Well they say when one door closes another one opens ... From what you told me you may have a new venture in the pipeline... It must have been quite emotional though  letting go of what was a big part of your  life Fooj

Thank you all for your very supportive replies.

There was a silver lining to this very sad tale........the skip fee has been waived because the boss wants me to paint a portrait of his daughter and pony......

So as you all  said......As one door closes another opens, and saves me £200 too.

Seriously though, to see all that work and stock on the skip, did upset me, because it made me realise that my workshops are no more, and that I must move on.....so out with my pencils, paints and brushes....oh....and my new/old camera.
