Boy-oh-Boy!

This pic brought back many happy memories.....for over ten years we owned a 1966 VW BEETLE.....it had an incredible story, far too long to detail here, but my two lads and I became avid Aircooled VW Fans, I was a member of the Warwickshire/Leicester VW Club.....attended and sometimes took part in the events at VW ACTION at Stonleigh, or Stanford Showground and at Stamford Hall. That Beetle hardly ever let us down, took on camping holidays with a huge family tent on a very small roof-rack.

After all the tents but ours got blown over during a storm on a cliff-top site ( I learned to cross Guy ropes, inside and outside from scouting) .....I decided to acquire a VW Camper .....we had that for almost 20 years, lots of family holidays, plus being my main vehicle for my business making, selling and demonstrating wooden toy making all over the country.

That van, is still going as far as I know.....I recall shedding a tear when I had to let it go.

Great shot by the way.
