Nice images. Where have they been Colin?

RAF Coningsby for the last 3 years or so. The runway at Waddington was closed to all flying in 2014 due to an upgrade that went on and on ...and on and on. I think everyone started to believe they would never finish it. I think Coningsby are relived to have all the AWACs move back, meanwhile Waddington does have a rather wide and long airstrip so we may see some usual traffic.

Don't like flying, but love aircraft.......living under the final approach to Birmingham International Airport, I have to.......... I used to visit RAF/USAF Upper Heyford when it was operational......I used to demonstrate and sell at craft shows, organised by the officers wives club and the sergeants wives club......this got me to meet many serving aircrew, and to sell in one of the huge operational hangers airside.....

The military traffic police, would do fantastic dance-like moves as they directed traffic.......it was also fascinating/scary to see just off duty uniformed mums pushing baby whilst still having a weapon ........ Can't forget the Haskin and Baggins? Ice cream either.....used to buy it by the gallon in the amazing canteen/shop......US dollars only allowed, I used to keep enough back so ai could shop.

Sadly it is all derelict now.
