This reminds me very much of that old 1927 silent film......Metropolis.....

I have just acquired the latest restored copy......if you are into, Art Deco, science fiction, over-acting and mono photography, it is a great purchase.

Over-acting was a necessary technique of silent cinema - 'mugging the camera' was the only way you could substitute for dialogue. The sad thing is some of the great silent stars couldn't stop doing it when talkies came in. (But why am I telling you this Fooj - you were there! )

RATBAG!  ?

Not quite....... but almost, Al Jolson was still popular when I was a nipper, but, all the films I watched were Talkies..... but.......most were in black and white I must admit.

METROPOLIS!      A classic that should be watched by all.
