all the images were taken indoors, went out to the garden and picked things that I thought were interesting.

yep you can link to a laptop as the laptop powers the microscope, the usb cable length is about 5 foot, but you could get usb extension lead and take it in to the garden/in the wild or on holiday, however as you use the laptop screen to view I don't think this would be very practical. you could take samples and then view in the car/caravan/at home, makes life a bit more easier (this is what I do).

most of the images were from the garden and the others were brought back from my search for fossils at the beach.

judy, I this is one of my many interests, used the standard microscope since I got one for Christmas when I was a boy, and always found the closer ups interesting, however over the years you loose it.

now, I wanted something I could view on the screen and print the images off if I wanted, so eventually decided to take the plunge, the biggest challenge I can give myself is capturing some snowflakes.

but handy for the dark nights when you can't get out as much, just grab a few things when you are out and look at them when you can't get out.

you can also view old coins, stamps, loads of household/kitchen items.
